AiM film festival UK celebrates independent Africa
Africa in Motion (AiM)- UK-based African film festival

Africa in Motion (AiM), a UK-based African film festival, is taking place from 21 October to 5 November 2010 at Edinburgh's Filmhouse Cinema and other venues across the city. This year's festival takes as its main theme 'Celebrations', in commemoration of 50 years of independence of 17 African countries, as well as celebrating the fifth birthday of the festival.

The festival will feature more than 70 films - fiction features, shorts and documentaries - from 28 African countries over the 16 day..........

Jennifer Hudson to star as Winnie Mandela in new filmOscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson broke down as she spoke for the first time publicly about the murders of her mother, brother and nephew.

The one-time American Idol contestant, who went on to win an Academy Award three years ago for a supporting role in her feature debut Dreamgirls, said the 2008 triple-slaying was "surreal."

"It’s all a blur. It was surreal," she said during an episode of U.S. cable channel VH1’s documentary series "Behind the Music" broadcast on Monday. "It was like I was outside of myself."

Popular former Child star Gary Coleman dies

Gary ColemanDiminutive former child actor Gary Coleman, known to millions as the star of hit sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes," died Friday after suffering a brain hemorrhage, his manager said.

Coleman (42) had been on life support after being hospitalized at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on Wednesday. He had slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness.

Coleman's manager John Alcanter said Coleman died shortly after 12:00 pm local time (1900 GMT) following a decision to discontinue life support.

Ever since the black South African majority became regulars in national television series, more drama series, comedies and soaps were unveiled to entertain South African citizens. It was the greatest time for the television industry and its viewers.
