South Africa World Cup kickoff concert, the party of the decade

FIFA World Cupâ„¢ Kick-off Celebration Concert

South Africa's long awaited World Cup-kickoff concert kicks off today Thursday at Orlando Stadium, and Organisers of the celebration concert have promised the ceremony will be nothing short of the party of the decade.

This, as some of the top names in the music industry arrived in South Africa this week ahead of the concert.

Several of the top international artists who will be performing were paraded at Soccer City Stadium on Wednesday much to the excitement of the fans who went there to catch a glimpse of the likes of the American band, the Black Eyed Peas. The concert will be broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide and it's the first of this magnitude to be organised by FIFA.

Johnny Clegg live at the Forum Kentish Town London on Saturday 19th Jun 2010

Jonny Clegg plus Special Guest Arno Carstens Live in London

Johnny Clegg will be performing live at Forum Kentish Town London on Saturday 19th Jun 2010 supported by former South African lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls singer-songwriter/guitarist Arno Carstens.

Thirty years after Johnny Clegg defied a racist regime to bring Zulu rhythms and Western pop together on stage, he says hosting the World Cup next month crowns South Africa's "tremendous struggle" against apartheid.

Raised in South Africa in the 1960s, Clegg saw how his adoptive homeland's race laws turned it into an international pariah.
