| Last of Face of Africa auditions in Joburg |

Casting auditions were held in 14 African countries - Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe with the last search stopping in Ghana and South Africa on the same day of the 23rd. The prize for the new season is set at US$50,000 from M-Net plus a modelling contract with O Model Africa, which is headed by the first Face of Africa winner, Oluchi Onweagba. Hopeful contestants who make it through the auditions will proceed in the competition to Model Boot Camp during which time the top 10 finalists will be chosen. They will then head into the M-Net Face of Africa 2009 finale in Nigeria in February 2010. M-Net's Face of Africa 2008 Finale which was held at the SuperBowl in Sun City, South Africa was won by the striking 23-year-old Ghanaian Kate Menson.
