Lukando tells why she won Face of Africa
Face of Africa winner: Lukando

Zambian born Lukando Nalungwe, who shocked the world penultimate Saturday when she emerged the 6th winner of the M-Net sponsored Face of Africa competition has attributed her success to her persistence to be a part of the competition.

According to her revelation, she started participating in the competition at the age of 17 years. Since then, she has not relented in her effort to make her dream come through.

Last of Face of Africa auditions in Joburg

Sandiso (South Africa) -Face of Africa 2008 top 10 FinalistThe last of M-Net's Face of Africa 2009 casting auditions will be hosted at the Shine Studios, 1st floor, Corner Henri and Smit Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg South Africa on 23 September 2009 from 9am.

Casting auditions were held in 14 African countries - Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe with the last search stopping in Ghana and South Africa on the same day of the 23rd.

The prize for the new season is set at US$50,000 from M-Net plus a modelling contract with O Model Africa, which is headed by the first Face of Africa winner, Oluchi Onweagba.

South African crowned Miss Teen World
Tayla Robinson Miss Teen World 2010 joins the other top four finalistsThe Hilton Houston Westchase in Houston, Texas played host to the international search for Miss Teen World 2010 with contestants from all over the world vying for the title of Miss Teen World 2010.

Tayla Robinson, 15 years old of Johannesburg, South Africa won the crown last week, with Miss Teen Honduras Melba Doblado as 1st Runner Up, Miss Teen Canada Siera Bearchell as 2nd Runner Up, Miss Teen United States Michelle Leonardo as 3rd Runner Up, and Miss Teen Poland Erica Szymanski as 4th Runner up.

Tayla is a 10th grader, currently attending Florida High School. This straight A student is a ballerina and has been dancing since the age of five.

Southern African Beauty Queens of Miss Universe 2009
Miss South AfricaOver 80 contestants have set their eyes on the Miss Universe 2009 title as the beauty pageant draws near to the finals, and five out of the Nine African contestants representing Africa are from Southern Africa.

So who are these beauties, and do we think they stand a chance? Critics and fans of the show have already picked Renate Cerljen, a 21 year old beauty from Sweden as their likely winner, but we think they could all be in for a shocker.
